Arthur @ 4 months

Here is a quick snapshot of Arthur right now!  These first few months have gone so fast and my days of holding an itty bitty newborn are long gone.  Arthur is getting so big and I love every chubby roll of him!  Although I very much enjoyed having my first baby, there is something about the second that just can't be beat.  I love that I get to experience this stage again without all of the uncertainty that comes with being a first time mom.  Arthur is an easy going baby and I can't help but wonder if it is because I am so much more relaxed?!  He is doing awesome in the sleep department and I am now a firm believer in the baby wise method.  I read (and re-read) this baby wise sleep schedule and have been using it since he was about 3-4 weeks old.  Not only has it made him a good sleeper, but it's also given me a loose schedule to follow which has helped me structure our days around nursing and nap time.  Right now Arthur feels easy compared to his big brother, although I'm sure that will change on a dime as he becomes mobile!  He is already scooting around a bit, rolling from front to back, and spending lots of time in his bouncer.  The boys can't really play together (or fight!) yet, but I can already see a little relationship forming between them.  Sometimes I catch Edwin reading him little books or serving him pretend food while Arthur is grinning away at him!  It's really cute and gives me hope that in a couple of years they will be buddies.  Edwin also started calling the baby "Arthie" which has stuck.  We didn't have a nicknamed planned for him, but I kind of like Arthie.

Nick has a ridiculously busy summer this year.  More than usual with some new projects and events happening at work this month.  He was really looking forward to heading up north for the 4th of July and it was a much needed long weekend.  We had beautiful weather on Saturday and it was definitely the best holiday we've spent up there.  We splashed in the lake and Nick took Edwin for several jet ski rides.  Edwin is officially a "wave hound" as Nick likes to call him and it's pretty cute for me to watch those two zip around the lake together.  It was really fun staying up late to watch the fireworks out on the lake, but of course Arthur decided to sleep poorly that night so we were all pretty exhausted when we arrived home the next day.  It was a great weekend though and I realized this is the only picture I took, but it's one of my favorites.  I think it's the start of a new era for us.  Edwin on the jet ski!
