edwin on the farm 21/52

This week we took our first excursion out to the CSA.  We need to work 15 hours over the course of the summer and are hoping to make a weekly trip to the farm to do some weeding and harvesting.  Edwin did great on the farm!  We only worked for about an hour (which is the equivalent to weeding about 3 rows of kale (farming, I tell ya!) but he did really well with the plants and kept himself occupied with shovels and trucks while I worked.  We've been getting beautiful boxes of greens for a few weeks now and I'm trying hard to remember to eat more salads every day.  In the never ending quest to clean up my diet, I am so thankful for the beautiful organic produce that finds its way into our fridge right now.  I think I am going to be very glad I signed up for a work share this summer.  Edwin is finally old enough to enjoy the activity and likes to refer to us as "farmer Edwin" and "farmer mama!"  Plus, it feels really good to get my hands in the dirt.

I'm playing catch up on posting project 52 photos from the last few weeks.  I know I say this every spring (heck, every week it seems) but life just doesn't slow down much at all lately.  It's hard for me to wrap my head around the fact that summer is just a month away and Edwin and I will get to enjoy our days together once again.  Any routine that involves more time with him, and more time at home makes for a very happy mama.  I'm looking forward to that.

I'm still using up my Kodak Porta 160 film with my Canon AE-1.  Best $50 I've ever spent on a camera in my opinion.  I'm looking forward to hauling it around with us this summer!

mother's day

To all of the inspiring, strong, hard working, healthy, and patient mamas out there - who make this job look easy each and every day, I tip my hat to you.  I've never worked so hard, or learned so much doing anything else, and somehow, it all just keeps getting better.
